I knew a little about him through my mother, and I met him possibly once or twice as a little boy, but I had no idea what a complex and interesting man he was. Uncle Milan sold a piece of property on North Creek in Gig Harbor to my father in the early 1950s, and my sister and I recently sold it to the City of Gig Harbor, to be preserved as green space in perpetuity. For many years, he continued to be a very active, outgoing and well-loved man, surrounded by people who loved him.
