Same as yesterday.  Interviewed the old homestead - concluded what ideas I held regarding improvements - made arrangements partially and skippered back to my job -- the boys having cleared the balance of Susie's bottom.

Warmer and clear.  In morning ran out to Fox Island with scow and in towed a raft of bolts from Pac. Mill to C & S  More friends in sight.

Same.  In morn ran back to town - then settled business till P.M. Then towed a bunch of logs to the ??? Tac Co.   The G-and before ? ? a scow of wood from Fox I.

Emmett Hunt's Diary Entry July 1, 1891

Very warm in the sun and very pleasurable in the shade.  The A.M. was put in at dredging near the Bunkers and in P.M. we found the garbage also a load of cedars across the bay.  Today we begin work for ourselves both under contract and on the outside i.e. if we complete our arrangements as anticipated.

Fine again then a few drops of rain were invisible for a few minutes at the time.

Nothing to do except look up the garbage work which A.M. has lt in.  Today the Glide began carrying passengers for nothing, and the Iola again went on making 3

A trifle misty in spots but not bad.  Got our bits and windlass repaired and Hatch's carelessness also and took in the ice cream social in eve.

Good day also.  Got our scow down to deep water & tied up.  Towed the "Talisman" to the beach then tied floats to her from R.R. wharf and we go to our great satisfied.

Cloudy and pleasant.  Got out at 6:15 this morn and towed all day on the cussed boom and now at 9 P.M. we are just at Alki Point.  Got badly taken in on this job but will try to break even on the next one -- also try to remember it.

Pleasant day, Took scow to Fuller's brick yard and that was all.  but a half loaf is better than no bread.

Nice and rainy.  Steamed in with our brush in morn "took in" the President's reception in the rain and then to Whiteman's Cove and got 5 sec's of logs which we took to Alki Point & anchor.

Rainy all day.  Did nothing. Took buggy ride to Hillhurst last night - got very little out of it.  Sleep 1/2 the day today.

Good day again.  Took scow to Port Washington expecting a return load of rock which was not loaded so came back light rather than delay and take a chance of ??? looking for said delay.

Cloudy and cool but good weather.  Took S. B. No. 2 to Pt. Wash. and took back the No. 3 with rock against the tide as bad as it could possibly be making very long trip.

Some mist in morn and some at night fair between.  Got our paint aboard and in p.m. pulled out on our way at Haskell & Crawfords -- tomorrow reconstruction and cleaning begins.

A perfect day.  In morn towed the G & Z driver and our scow to one of the harbor buoys and that contributed to a days work.  At night went up to meet some of the sweet ones but they failed to come, so we quit.
